Description:"THE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT OF RECONSTRUCTION OF POLSKI HAK QUAY IN GDANSK"Investor:Treasury - Director of Maritime Office in Gdynia |
|
Polski Hak is the area and quay near to mouth of Motlawa to Martwa Wisla in fornt of Kaszubski Canal.
History:In 16–17 century Polski Hak Quay was a boundary between the External Port of Gdansk and the Inner Port of Gdansk. For this reason, it was a gate, where after sunset the current of Motlawa were closed by wooden pole.
Polski Hak, Matthaeus Deisch, 1761–1765
Present:We designed the reconstruction of Polski Hak Quay from both sides: from the Motlawa River and from the Martwa Wisla River for a total distance about 355m. After reconstruction, the new quay is going to be a stop-mooring quay and a housing shore which will allow to enlargement and deepening the port's turntable located at the fork of fairways the Martwa Wisla and the Motlawa River. It is necessary to build the new construction only on water parcel and this is why the quay is designed as a cantilever with unusual geometry of the sheet piling (with a high rate of bending strength). This construction will allow to achieve the technical depth of 10.8 m without anchoring - without interfering in the land. |
