We are pleased to announce that our office will be responsible for preparing the design documentation for the construction of the breakwaters for the future Outer Port in Gdynia.
The ‘design and build’ project will be carried out by a consortium comprising Budimex S.A., Roverpol sp. z o.o. and Rover Maritime S.L. The contracting authorities are the Director of the Maritime Office in Gdynia and the Management Board of Morski Port Gdynia S.A.
The design documentation will be drawn up on the basis of the functional and operational programme provided by the contracting authorities. This programme was developed using the assumptions of the concept for the construction of the Outer Port, prepared by our office in 2019. For WUPROHYD, this therefore represents a continuation of work on a project in which we were already involved at the conceptual stage.
Our task will be to draw up complete, multi-disciplinary design documentation and to obtain planning permission. The scope of work will include, amongst other things, the preparation of the implementation concept, the architectural and structural design, the technical design, the detailed design, and the technical specifications for the execution and acceptance of construction works.

It is worth noting that a key aspect of this project is its implementation using BIM methodology. In Poland’s hydrotechnical sector, BIM is still in its infancy and is only just beginning to be adopted by more and more developers. We are therefore particularly pleased to be involved in a project that will make a tangible contribution to changing the approach to the design process in Poland
